Unlocking and Optimizing the Jack Lance in Warzone & MW3: A High-Risk, High-Reward Shotgun

In this week's update for *Warzone* and *Modern Warfare 3*, we were introduced to a new set of challenges and an exciting aftermarket part—the Jack Lance for the MX Guardian. This turns the MX Guardian from *MW2* into a fast time-to-kill (TTK), two-shot potential shotgun that requires precision and skill. In this post, we'll dive into how to unlock this new attachment, set up the best loadout for it, and assess whether it's worth the grind.

Unlocking the Jack Lance

To unlock the Jack Lance, you’ll need to complete Week Two’s challenges. If you’re a multiplayer user, the process is straightforward: load up a match of Shipment and tackle these tasks in one go. For example, you'll need to:

- Get 35 akimbo operator kills

- Secure 20 kills with a burst-fire weapon

- Perform melee kills, and more

In *Warzone*, the process is more tedious. You’ll need to loot 30 caches, place in the top 10 seven times, complete 20 contracts, and achieve kill assists. Expect at least seven games to finish the challenge. However, if you’re patient, plunder mode will be your best friend to get through some of these requirements.

Best Loadout for the Jack Lance

Once unlocked, the Jack Lance kit offers some limitations with attachments. There are no barrel or magazine options, so you’re restricted in how you can modify the weapon for effective gameplay. Here’s the loadout I recommend to maximize its potential:

- **Muzzle**: Jack Slash – improves rechamber speed and movement.

- **Laser**: Cammara Laser for faster aim down sight (ADS) and sprint-to-fire times.

- **Stock**: DCP Z – boosts strafe ADS, general sprint speed, and control.

- **Optic**: Nidar – helps with precision aiming.

While the gun boasts a 1.5x headshot damage, don’t be misled—it’s still capped at a two-shot potential. The Jack Lance’s key weakness is its limited ammo. With only three shots, you’ll need to land two accurate hits to knock down an opponent. Miss a shot, and you’ll find yourself reloading under pressure. Additionally, it uses sniper ammo, further limiting your reserve.

Jack Lance: High Skill, High Reward

The Jack Lance is not for the faint of heart. Its three-shot capacity means you must hit 66% of your shots to secure a kill, making it a high-skill weapon. If you enjoy high-risk, high-reward gameplay and excel in accuracy, this shotgun could become a formidable close-range option. It’s especially viable for solo players who thrive in intense, face-to-face gunfights.

However, be prepared for limitations. The weapon’s low bullet velocity and heavy ammo restrictions make it difficult to engage enemies at range. Additionally, I recommend equipping **Sleight of Hand** in your perks to speed up reloading, and having **Throwing Knives** or **Thermites** for finishing opponents, conserving your three crucial shots.

Is the Jack Lance Worth Unlocking?

If you’re a completionist aiming for the *Season 6* animated camo, the grind is worth it. Shotgun players may also find the Jack Lance enjoyable, but it requires a heavy investment in precision and skill to use effectively. Its high skill ceiling makes it a unique, albeit niche, addition to your loadout.
